What's behind Cyclus? The recycled fibres used to make Cyclus come from post-consumer waste paper in the form of either office or printing waste. All waste paper used in the process is recycled in the following volumes:
Usable fibres 60% or 59,000 bone dry tonnes is turned into new fibres which are reused in the production of Cyclus.
Residual products 37% or 37,000 bone dry tonnes which is comprised of short residual fibres, kaolin and calcium carbonate is used as a raw material in the produciton of cement.
Reject items 2% or 1,900 bone dry tonnes consists of plastic, wood or metal etc. It is used in the production of district heating at a nearby power station and also as building heating.
Biological sludge 1% or 1,100 bone dry tonnes is sludge from biological wastewater treatment carried out at the Maglemølle factory. It is used as fertilizer on agricultural land. |
