Cyclus now a visibly cleaner paper Cyclus now a visibly cleaner paper Positive results following investments in the de-inking process
A clear stance on sustainability and environmental awareness is expressed when one chooses recycled fibre for paper production. This paper is characterised by a natural whiteness and isolated spots that look like pepper dust. Cyclus has always had these characteristics, which today are synonymous with the quality that is known and used for various printing jobs in which one wishes to communicate a strong environmental signal to the world.
Improved whiteness Over time, and in using new technologies, the de-inking process has achieved an improved whiteness, in which the yellow and grey nuances in particular have been minimised. These positive developments have resulted in spots appearing even more apparent on the whiter background, resulting in requests for a cleaner appearance. The majority of ink from waste paper is rinsed away in the de-inking process, but there is always a small amount that remains attached to the fibres and can be seen as spots on the finished paper. Also in this regard, new technologies have made it possible to remove more ink without damaging the fibres, which must maintain their strength and springiness.
New rinsing steps remove ink Among many new initiatives, Dalum Papir has also chosen to invest in the de-inking process with the aim of attaining improved paper whiteness. During the summer break at the de-inking facilities, new rinsing steps have been implemented that can remove a great deal of ink. Furthermore, a unit has been implemented that can break the remaining ink into smaller particles. As expected, these production initiatives have resulted in a halving of the spots on the paper and thereby, a visibly cleaner paper.
We can now proudly state that Cyclus is now among the best in the recycling industry, both in regard to whiteness and spots. Without losing its charm and natural look, Cyclus has been adapted to new times according to our and your wishes. |
